Studio Underd0g, the British watch brand known for its playful take on classic designs, has unveiled the second generation of its 02Series field watch. The dial has also undergone a transformation. The minutes track has been slightly inwardly adjusted to enhance legibility beneath the domed crystal, and the handset has been completely re-engineered. The amount of printed text has been reduced and rebalanced, ensuring a more streamlined and readable display.
Four new dial colors join the lineup: Nightshade, a deep purple tone, and Red L0lly, a cherry red. These colors are achieved through a unique process of tinting a 1mm-thick sapphire layer suspended above a metallic dial base. A sunburst pattern etched into the layer below creates changing reflections through the colored sapphire, adding depth and visual interest.
The Full Mo0n and Midnight editions, previously available, have been discontinued with the introduction of these new colors. The collection now features a more diverse range of options, catering to various preferences.
Under the hood, the 02Series Gen2 boasts a significant upgrade in its movement. The Sellita SW200-2 M Power+ has replaced the previous Sellita SW210-1, offering a 63-hour power reserve, an increase from the original 42 hours. This improvement in power reserve is achieved while retaining the hacking seconds function, ensuring precise time setting.
The new leather straps by The Strap Tailor further enhance the Gen2's appeal, offering a range of color combinations to suit individual tastes. The Studio Underd0g 02Series Gen2 is now available, priced at GBP 875, EUR 900, CHF 900, or USD 1,200, with worldwide shipping included.
